2023: a year of joys and sorrows

Writer's picture: Paul R.S. HannaPaul R.S. Hanna

It took me 33 years to be able to see this world for what it truly is. One year ago today, I never could have imagined what God had planned for me in 2023. I have learned much and continue to learn more. I have experienced great joys and great sorrows.

I work in a hospital now; I definitely didn’t see that one coming. I’m not a doctor or a surgeon. I cannot perform heart surgery, but I have learned how to help mend a broken heart; for my heart has been broken more times than I can count.

I don’t know what is coming in 2024, but I will walk through it with hope and thanksgiving, one day at a time, just like I did in 2023. I will trust God above all else, and he will guide my steps as I walk on a path that I cannot always see.

I pray that the New Year be for you and your family exactly what God has ordained it to be. God bless you all and Happy New Year!

It took me 67 years and having been in the heart surgery arena, fixing a physically broken heart is much easier than fixing an emotionally broken heart. I've learned that The Good Father, Great Physician and healer is in the heart restoration business and is The Only Way to have the broken heart repaired.

May God bless and keep you all. Happy New Year.

I can't fix an emotionally broken heart either, I can only help guide them to the one who can. Thank you and Happy New Year to you too!
