I wrote this poem after seeing the beauty of someone close to death choose to accept God’s free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ.
I was mostly an observer and I was nearly blinded by the light of a daughter who never stopped loving and praying for her mom.
The title of this poem is:
Family Friends
by Paul R.S. Hanna
—
Mom, mom, do you trust Jesus, mom?
Yes, yes, blessed Mother’s Son, yes!
Dad, dad, do you love our Dad, dad?
Know, know, my Abba, I know!
Son, son, are you Son's brother, son?
Sis, sis, we’re His brother and sis!
Child, child, whose child are you, child?
I am, I am, my Father’s: I AM.

Scriptures:
“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” - Luke 15:7 NIV
“For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”
- Ezekiel 18:32 ESV
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
- 2 Peter 3:9 ESV
“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” - Romans 8:15-17 ESV
“You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.”
- John 15:14-17 ESV
