For anyone who isn’t terribly interested in theology, the announcement Pope Francis made yesterday was huge. We may be about to witness a schism in the Roman Catholic Church. The last major schism took place more than half a millennia ago.
I am not celebrating division or offering any commentary on the decision itself. I’m simply pointing out that what happens next in the coming days, months and years will be recorded and studied as a major historical event.

I wonder if those living during the Luther reform felt the same way? Many (some citations record millions) were killed if they did not denounce the reformation and return to Catholicism.
We are asked to bend towards the Written Truth and Word of God, not have The Word bend to our minuscule way of thinking.
