Seas of Anxiety

Writer's picture: Paul R.S. HannaPaul R.S. Hanna

I created this piece to serve as the cover for my very first poem. Both share the same title:

Seas of Anxiety

Some time ago did I embark

with dream to tame the sea.

Washed ashore and lost before,

the waves were all I see.

With noble aim and foolish deed,

I sought and vowed to grow.

Against the tides and storms at sea,

relentless was my row.

Once more the sea has thrown me

back, heave, ho, to no avail.

His voice I hear, “leave oar behind”

and “learn, you must, to sail”.

Again this day shall I embark

with dream to tame the sea.

This time I ride the winds that

He may tame the sea in me.
